Go on a Adirondack helicopter tour

Who wouldn’t want to arrive at their Adirondack elopement location by helicopter?? At North Country HeliFlite, you can take a 2 hour ride around the Adirondacks, Lake George, or Vermont’s Green Mountain Region. Although their wedding packages aren’t detailed on their website, it does say that they’re able to land on sight for your ceremony location! How cool is that? Visit Ausable Chasm

If you want a lodging spot and an adventurous experience all in one, Ausable Chasm is the way to go. If you choose to elope at any of the breathtaking locations near Ausable, you can have your ceremony and then explore the grand canyon of the Adirondacks! They offer campground or cabin rentals, and tons of tours and other experiences onsite. From water rafting, to rock climbing, to rappelling this spot has it all. Go glamping at Herkimer Diamond Mines

Ever heard of eloping at a diamond mine?? Well at Herkimer, you can rent one of their Glamping Pods (or their Treehouse Lodge) and elope onsite! Visit the Adirondack Sky Center

How romantic does it sound to go stargazing after you say “I do”? At the Adirondack Sky Center in Tupper Lake, you can reserve a private stargazing session so it’s just the two of you (and me there to take photos!). To get in touch with them, you can visit their website!

Go sailing at Sail Adirondacks

Whether you want to learn to sail or just enjoy the ride, Sail Adirondacks has multiple different options to choose from. If you want to keep it simple, you can book a sailing tour of Saranac Lake, which is also a popular upstate New York elopement location. Or if you want to extend your experience, you can book a Sail ‘n’ Stay package! It includes a half or full day sailing adventure, a one-night stay at one of Champlain Valley’s charming bed & breakfasts’, then another half or full day sail. An underground cave elopement?! Talk about a way to elope that you’ll never forget! At Howe Caverns, you can get married 156 feet underground in some of New York’s most beautiful caves. After you say “I do”, you can take a tour of the caves as well as take a boat ride on the Lake of Venus, which is a crazy beautiful underground lake. Hike Sam’s Point and say “I do”

Sam’s Point is located in Minnewaska State Park Preserve and is home to the breathtaking Lake Maratanza, one of the five Shawangunk sky lakes. This lake is 2,245 feet above sea level, which makes it the highest lake in Shawangunk Ridge. You can get the most insane views from Sam’s Point, making it one of the best upstate New York elopement ideas! There are also tons of other things to do within Minnewaska, from swimming to scuba diving to rock climbing.

Two glaciers and an upland forest… that’s what you get when you elope at Green Lakes State Park. The park’s glaciers were formed over 15,000 years ago at the end of the last Ice Age! You can elope outdoors, and if you’re having guests you can rent any one of their 5 pavilion rooms for your reception. 

Elope at Firelight Camps near Ithaca, New York

Firelight Camps is the perfect option if you want to soak in all the beauty and serenity that upstate NY, and the Finger Lakes region has to offer. Their luxury safari tents will have you enjoying every second of your stay, and the trail leading right to Buttermilk Falls gives you the option to go on an adventure at any time. Elope at Point Au Roche State Park

Point Au Roche State Park sits right on the northwestern shore of Lake Champlain. The sandy beach would be perfect for an east coast beach elopement, so if that’s your vibe, be sure to check out this location! Breakneck Ridge is a mountain in upstate New York that would make for a great elopement location. This Hudson Highlands State Park trail is quite the challenging climb, but the views are so worth it. Once you get to the top, all your hard work will have paid off with the breathtaking view of the Hudson River.

If you know anything about me, you know that I love the Adirondacks. So of course, I had to include Tupper Lake in my list of upstate New York elopement ideas. There are pristine waters, picturesque hiking trails, and the actual community is so inviting and welcoming. And if you need somewhere to eat after your elopement, head to Little Italy for Tupper Lake’s best Italian food!

Elope at Seneca Lake

Wanna head to the Finger Lakes for your upstate New York elopement? I’ll head there with you! The Finger Lakes is known for its beautiful scenery, delicious wines, and of course, the best lakes in upstate NY. Seneca Lake is the largest of the Finger Lakes, and is actually one of the deepest lakes in North America. There are lots of great venues on Seneca Lake if you want to go that route, or you can elope at Seneca Lake State Park.

Elope at Mirror Lake

This upstate NY elopement spot is known for its calmness and serenity, which is what makes it a great place to marry your person! When you elope at Mirror Lake, you’ll be able to see the reflection of the Lake Placid village in its waters. In the summertime, you can even paddleboard or canoe at Mirror Lake! And if you’re eloping in the winter, don’t forget to pack your ice skates and dogsleds!

Grab a pint at Raquette River Brewing

If you’re a fan of good beer, you have to stop by Raquette River Brewing after your upstate New York elopement. It’s located in Tupper Lake at the crossroads of the Adirondack Mountains. This brewery is locally owned and operated by a couple who had a passion for brewing and started in their own garage! In the off-season they have an onsite food truck that serves fresh, gourmet pizza. 

Have a glass of wine at Adirondack Winery

If beer isn’t really your thing but wine is a little more up your alley, I’ve got you. Adirondack Winery is one of the most highly rated attractions around, and for good reason! Upstate NY is kinda known as one of the best wine country regions, so it would be a crime not to taste it yourself. They even have a Lake George tasting room if that’s closer to your elopement location.
